Canthigaster spp. (unpublished)

In the 1977 review of the Indo-Pacific Canthigaster, Canthigaster solandri was considered to be among the most widespread members of the genus, with a distribution extending from eastern Africa to the Hawaiian Islands. This wide-ranging species was subsequently split into three species on the basis of persistently occurring, geographically-correlated morphs in the Indian Ocean and Coral Triangle region (Anderson et al. 1998, Allen et al. 2003, E. Stump unpublished manuscript). These three species are illustrated here.
